English demonstrative pronouns are words that are used to determine the location and proximity of things. These are:

PLURAL >>>> THESE, THOSE   

According to a close proximity of things, we may use "this" or "these", for example:

• This glass of milk
• These pencils

According to a distant proximity, we may use "that" or "those", for example:

• That wall
• Those flowers

As can be seen, the use of these pronouns is very easy to apply, we just have to take into account the proximity and the amount of things.
