HUMANS OF NEW YORK is a blog created by Brandom Staton in the summer of

2010. He strangers on the streets of New York four years ago because he thought ‘it would be really cool to create an exhaustive catalogue of New York inhabitants, so I set out to photograph 10,000 New Yorkers and plot their photos on a map.

He collects quotes and short stories from people he met and he includes them with the photographs. Doing this, it became the topic of his original blog. Now he has over eight million followers on social media and it provides worldwide daily glimpses into the lives of strangers of New York City. After it, his book Humans of New York debuted at No 1 on the New York Times bestseller list.

‘New York is a giant place and no matter how big you get, there’s still going to be a ton of people who haven’t heard of you’ says Brandon.
