SOME WRITING REFERENCES!

1. Read the question two or three times to make sure you understand exactly what you are being asked to write.
2. Try to plan your composition carefuly before you write. Keep a simple structure: introduction, body( one,two or three paragraphs) and conclusion.
3.Use wide variety of vocabulary and short sentences( dont write things that are too complicated, if you don't know how to say something try to simplify it ).
4.Check your work once you have finished (especially the grammar and the spelling).

Here you have some common errors:

3.SAY WHY YOU ARE WRITING.

Dear Mr Jones,

I am writing with reference to be proposed changes in the school curriculum. There are several isssues that I would like to draw to your attention.

4.EXPLAIN THE SITUATION. USE APROPIATE EXPRESSIONS TO SEQUENCE YOUR IDEAS.

First of all, next year students will not be able to study maths and economics; they will have to choose either one subject or the other. In addition, all the boys will have to play rugby, whereas before they could opt to play football or basketball. Furthermore, the school will no longer be offering optional lessons in Chinese. And last but not least, classes are going to end half an hour earlier in the summer term.

I regret to inform you that I think that all of these changes are a serious mistake. Moreover, I may have to make some important decisions about my son's future at the school if the situation does not change. You may also be interested to know that many parents share my opinion.

5.PROPOSE ACTION.

In my view of the situation, I think that we should arrange a meeting at yout earliest convenience. I
would appreciate it if you could let me know when would suit you.

6.POLITE CLOSE.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Your sincerely,

Michael Saville.
